Twas the Bite Before Christmas Returns for its 17th AnnualTurkey Dinner Fundraiser – An Elegant Evening of Giving

PRESS RELEASE Mississauga, ON — September 15, 2025 — The Twas the Bite Before Christmas Foundation is proud to announce the return of its 17th Annual Turkey Dinner Fundraiser: An Elegant Evening of Giving, taking place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Le Treport Convention Centre, 1075 Queensway East, Mississauga, ON.

“Aligning our fundraiser with GivingTuesday underscores the importance of what we do,” says Judy McArthur, Board Member and Event Lead of Twas the Bite Before Christmas. “Every contribution, big or small, creates aripple effect that touches families across Mississauga. This is more than just a dinner — it’s a movement.”

This year’s event coincides with GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity, making it the perfect opportunityfor the community to come together, celebrate, and give back.

2024: A Year of Impact

Thanks to the generosity of the community, $117,695 was raised in 2024, providing thousands of meals,clothing, and school supplies to families across Mississauga.

Highlights included:

• $40,000 donated to Food Bank of Mississauga, plus $11,000 to Compass Foodbank and $5,000 to SevaFoodbank

• 500 hot chicken dinners served in partnership with Rotary of Meadowvale

• 5,040 tuna meal packets and 672 rice meal packets distributed through Mississauga open tables

• 200 turkey dinners and 300 turkeys donated during the holiday season

• Clothing, backpacks, and care packages delivered to schools and shelters

In total, more than $84,000 was directly reinvested into local food banks and initiatives, advancing the foundation’s mission to fight hunger, feed hope, and empower people in need.
